2021 Ride to Remember
This was the inaugural Ride to Remember. We began at the Shovelhead Lounge, Sanford, Fl with breakfast and over 100 riders. Each bike supported the American Flag. We rode to Wet Spot, Sanford, FL with so many bikes it was breathtaking. We rode through town and the back roads of Sanford and rode by the Sanford, Veterans Memorial Park to the Wet Spot. At 2PM we held a flag ceremony and placed a wreath at the memorial park. Our goal for this event was to create toiletry packages (shampoo, soap, socks, etc.) for our local homeless Veterans. We were able to create 1,300 care packages that have been distributed.
2021 Christmas in July
Through an idea from our member, Bill Spalding, Christmas in July was born. We held a Blackjack Run to benefit the United Methodist Children's Home, Enterprise, FL. We dropped off donation boxes at Wet Spot, Sanford, FL, Lies & Alibis, Sanford, FL, Shay's Airport Lounge, Sanford, FL and finale at Shovelhead, Longwood, Fl. The generous contributions of the first of its kind raised over $1,500 to purchase more arts and crafts, and summer projects for these children
2021 Ride for Food
November 20, 2021 we held the annual Ride for Food. In 2021, we were raising donations, monetary and non-perishable food items for local Veteran families in need. The event started at the AmVets Post 13, Deland, FL, and stops at Just 1 More Sports Bar, Deltona, FL Wet Spot, Sanford, FL, Legends, Sanford, FL and the end at Shovelhead, Longwood, FL Although it was a rainy and cold day, we had over 50 people show up to support the event. College Hunks donated 200 pounds of food and the use of their truck to haul the donations back to the AmVets where they were to be distributed. We ended up with over 1,000 pounds of food to help these local family get through the holidays. Raffles were held at every stop and a more baskets and 50/50 were drawn at the Shovelhead
2021 Christmas Toy Drive
On December 4, 2021, we held our annual toy drive. Mr. and Mrs. Claus were on hand all day for pictures as we picked up donated toys and other items for the United Methodist Children's Home, Enterprise, FL. We placed donated boxes at Shay's Airport Lounge, Sanford, FL, Wet Spot, Sanford, FL, Lies & Alibis, Sanford, FL and Shovelhead, Longwood, FL the month of November. On top of those donations, we were able to raised over $1,500 to purchase more items. We raised those extra donations though raffle baskets and 50/50 drawing.
