2022 VetFest

November 12, 2022 we held the inaugural Vet Fest to benefit the Paralyzed Veterans of America, Central Florida Chapter. We held the event in partnership with the Wet Spot Bar on Park Avenue in Historic Downtown Sanford. We were honored to have Mayor Art Woodruff read a proclamation to announce November 12, 2022 as Vet Fest Day. Our opening ceremony included a prayer, Pledge of Allegiance of America, Proclamation, National Anthem and an introduction of several of our local Paralyzed Veteran recipients. Everyone was introduced to Milton Sowards, 102-year-old, World War II Army Veteran and he was around most of the day.

Throughout the day, we had 4 local bands donate their times to play: Dave Itkin, The Knockdown, Vagabond Syndicate, and Fyre Insyde. There were also vendors who were selling their items to help raise more money.

A huge THANK YOU to our supporters of the event: WJRR/iHeart Radio, Frank Gay Commercial Services, Gast Construction, Fortiline Waterworks, Best Rental, Jogue, Inc., GoRascal, AGED, Florida Electric Works, River Grille, Gibson Truck World, Paddy's Pub, and Deland Collision Center.

We were honored by your generosity and were able to donate over $4,300 to PVA.

2022 Wreaths Across America

At our inaugural VetFest, we helped with the Wreaths Across America booth. We were able to raise enough donations ($600) to purchase 40 wreaths for the event. Our members attended the event on December 17, 2022 at the Deland Memorial Gardens. While there, we helped place 1,300 wreaths on the graves of our fallen veterans. 2022 Christmas Toy Drive

Christmas is a time to give to those in need. We have continued its annual tradition of hosting a Blackjack Toy Drive for the Florida United Methodist Children's Home, Enterprise, FL on December 3, 2022. Thank you to all those who donated gifts and participated in the annual event. A special thank you to the locations that hosted us: The Cabbage Patch, Foxhead, The Alibi, Shay's Airport Lounge, The Wet Spot, and Shovelhead. Sunny Beaches at The Alibi offered our riders a $5 BBQ sandwich lunch that was delicious!

Along the way, we enjoyed meeting new friends and playing Blackjack.

At Shovelhead, we were entertained with live music from Fyre Insyde and Crowned Rebels.

We announced the top hand and the worst hand at Shovelhead. Fred Mayer was our top Blackjack hand and Jolly Roger was the worst. Good fun was had by all.

On Monday, December 19, we dropped off 5 boxes of toys, games, sporting goods and more to the children's home (estimated $3,000).

Merry Christmas to one and all!
